I'm toying with the idea of using Python to create a set of tools for Blender that would make it possible to control a large number of objects easily, somewhat similar to the mograph tools in Cinema 4D. Here's a quick demo made while experimenting. The tree and bush are lifted from the Big Buck Bunny production files.

Further work on the script is on hold until the 2.5 release of Blender, as the Python API, among lots of other things, might change.
